About Western Aircraft Supplies Ltd.
Western Aircraft Supplies was established by Mr. Jean Peters of Calgary, Alberta in 1968. Jean supplied an international market with quality aircraft wood products and gained a reputation as the premium source for construction supplies. In 2001 Jean decided to retire; the business was purchased by Marc and Laurie Septav and moved to Slocan, British Columbia where it has since been operating as Western Aircraft Supplies Ltd. The company constructed a new 6000 sq. ft. facility in Slocan City during 2004/2005 in order to serve their customers better, maintain their goal of delivering the best aviation wood products and ensure customer satisfaction. Western Aircraft Supplies Ltd.'s commitment to the delivery of quality products requires travel to all parts of the Pacific Northwest in search of suitable raw material. In most cases trees are viewed in the forest setting and selected upon the company's strict quality guidelines. Products are often transported up to 500 miles to the facility, for lumber manufacture, drying and processing.
The development of alternative species of aircraft woods is in response to tightening supplies of suitable Sitka spruce. Our objective is to supply options to builders while attempting to keep homebuilding affordable. All woods, from the highest grade of sitka spruce to the alternate options, receive the same attention to detail, ensuring that only the best will go into our customer's order. |
